Yesterday, I recieved my weekly 'Wirral News' newspaper and was shocked at an article titled "Thygs attacked me, but I could face the charges" written by Liam Murphy.
The article went on to tell about a local couple who own a Newsagents in New Brighton, not far from where I live. Long story short; A bunch of 'youths' (I use this term lightly, simply because they are criminals and it shouldn't matter if they are teenagers or not) were hanging around the street outside the newsagents where Jayne Smith the owner was standing outside. The kids were being anti-social and misbehaving, one even walked over the top of her car showing off to his girlfriend and causing damage to her car. they also vandalised other cars along the road. she then called her husband out of the shop to help her talk to the group. The group then proceded to attack the couple, leaving them with black eyes and other injuries. When police sirens could be heard the gang ran off and escaped on to the local train station tracks. The couple were then informed by the police on their arrival that they could possible face charges for putting the 'children' in danger by causing them to run on to the train tracks.....Seriously????? what is wrong with this society? it is common on the Wirral for you to literally walk out of your door and see a young criminal acting up. Leaving most people feeling intimidated in their own home environment.
Why do we live in a society were you can get a pizza or a take away delivered to your door faster than an ambulance or the police arrive to your door?.....
Although I am not personally victimised, I can't help but feel anger for these victims of crimes who never get justice and inturn end up getting prosecuted!
I think everyone needs to start again.
