I couldn't continue onto my last blog post for some reason so here goes a new one lol.
So I was talking about how I like to use colour in my work now, there is a photo below of which you can see that I still love to use Ink but I want to introduce colour into it.
Today, I also took Part in the VIDA art workshop along with my Colleagues; Naomi, Colette and Jade. I have included two photographs of us setting up the Workshop at the Williamson Art Gallery. Naomi; the host of the Vida Workshops, approached Wirral Metropolitan College and asked for Volunteers. Of course I said yes, I would do anything for the experience of teaching or working with children and families. After numerous meetings, as a group we came up with the theme of "In the Frame." The name of the Workshop came from when we were looking through some of Colette's photographs of the Williamson Art Gallery and noticed how some of the embellishments in the architecture such as the columns and windows were like intricate picture frames.
We decided on three activities; Colette was to hold an activity making frames from collages of photographs taken of different details throughout the williamson art gallery.
Jade held an activity of which the participant had to wander around the gallery and select a detail somewhere that they liked and draw and colour that detail then frame it.
For my activity I produced three colouring in sheets based on the photographs that Colette had originally taken. The Colouring in sheets were originally just black line drawings but it was amazing to see how the Children and Families who came to the work shop developed their ideas into the three activities.
I have included some photographs of the setting up of the workshop but I could not take photographs of the work shop taking place because there were children there.
I thoroughly enjoyed taking part in the workshop and can't wait to do many more.
Infact, i think over the summer I am going to look into further teaching courses that I can apply for, for when I finish my degree... I think gaining this experience now has been extremely beneficial and I have loved every moment.
Here are some photographs of what I was talking about in my previous blog entry and this one.
